January is National Blood Donor Month. This health observance recognizes and celebrates the lifesaving contribution of blood and platelet donors. According to the American Red Cross, more than 14,000 donations are needed every day to keep the blood supply ready and available to meet the needs of about 2,600 hospitals, clinics and cancer centers across the country.
